Position Summary:
The Meals on Wheels Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of meals to clients in the community. This role ensures that meals are delivered at proper temperatures, provides brief wellness checks, and maintains a positive and respectful interaction with recipients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pick up prepared meals and delivery route assignments daily
• Accurately check and record meal temperatures prior to departure to ensure food safety compliance
• Deliver meals promptly according to assigned routes
• Provide friendly, professional interaction with clients during delivery
• Perform basic wellness checks and report any concerns to program staff
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery equipment (coolers, bags, etc.)
• Follow all traffic laws and safe driving practices
• Complete required delivery logs and documentation

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift and carry meal containers (typically up to 20 lbs)
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow food safety procedures, including temperature monitoring

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous delivery or customer service experience
• Familiarity with the local area

Work Environment:

• Primarily on the road with frequent stops
• Exposure to varying weather conditions
